84 Families Lost Everything In Apartment Fire
Donation protected
I would very much like to raise awareness to this campaign to assist our neighbors and ask that YOU donate to assist these families, if you are able to do so. Any and All funds raised through this GO FUND ME will be given to the Property Management to be distributed to the families actually affected by this devastating event.
EVEN IF ALL YOU CAN DO NOW IS JUST SHARING THIS STORY AND THE LINK, THAT WOULD BE A HUGE HELP...
On Sunday morning, 8/30/2020 at approximately 5:30 am while most (if not all), were asleep, the lives of residents of 84 apartments at Rose Hill Apartments in Lewisville, TX were completed upended and devastated by a fire that destroyed all of the apartments in Building 1 (which also contained the leasing office, business office and gym) - caused by a lightning strike to the roof of the building. Shortly after the lightning strike, within 10 to 15 minutes, the fire was burning and raging out of control.
The Lewisville Fire Department arrived and requested assistance from 4 other local jurisdictions (The Colony, TX, Coppell, TX, Flower Mound, TX, Highland Village, TX and Lake Cities, TX - see news links below).
I personally live in this apartment complex and I, as other residents, watched in awe and quite honestly, horror, as the affected building was completely devastated as we were trying to help console and ensure the safety of our neighbors.
It took at a minimum of over 8 hours to extinguish the flames but in doing so, the 3rd and 2nd floors collapsed, utterly destroying anything below them and the homes and belongings of those that lived there.
I and other residents have posted on our local "Next Door" app so the local community were aware and could begin donating very much needed supplies (basics: water, clothes, shoes, personal hygiene products, food - whatever they can), to assist these families (adults, children and family pets alike) and there have been several that have done so (staging these donations in the hallway of my building (Building 3, first floor) BUT, with this year 2020 being so awkward and somewhat cruel, we have all had to adapt and accept the Pandemic and issues facing society (Systemic Racism, Police Reform, etc) and now this on top of it for these devastated families could be a "no return breaking point".
Again - I would really like to raise awareness to this campaign to assist our neighbors that are in need and ask that YOU donate to assist these families, if you are able to do so. Any and All funds raised through this GO FUND ME will be given to the Property Management to be distributed to the families actually affected by this devastating event.
The leasing office has been temporarily stationed in apt 3118 should you have questions or wish to donate another way.
Please Help in any way you can...
