Rose Jones Yazzie, a Matriarch Bit'ahnii, was born on December 15, 1941. She is born for Tangle clan [Ta'neeszahnii]. She is originally born in Monument Valley, Arizona.

She is a lifetime rug weaver and internationally known for her Yei bi Chei [Holy Deities] and classic Monument Valley pictorial rugs. As a second generation daughter of Bessie B. Jones, Rose carried on the deep rooted culture of rug weaving and implemented the unique aspects of Navajo Culture set in the extraordinary architecture of her traditional hogan.

Rose was a pioneer in women business entrepreneurship, even though she never went to school. Through her resiliency, she built a business in the tourism industry by sharing the world an insight glance about Navajo culture and traditions.

On August 5, 2020, Rose made her journey to the spirit world, after complications of heart and kidney failure while in the hospital at Farmington, NM. 
Visitation and viewing at 9:00 AM and service at 10:00 AM (DST) on Thursday, August 13, 2020, 
at the Monument Valley Cemetery in Goulding's, Utah.
