The Rose Sleigh Scholarship Fund - Let's Build It

Rose Sleigh has touched many lives - Let's help her touch even more starting now

First, I want to thank all of you who donated to Rose's original GoFundMe, which was very successful in keeping her in the lovely board-and-care home where she spent her last months. As much as she appreciated that material support, the outpouring of love and appreciation that she received as the word got out about the GoFundMe campaign, aided by a front-page article in the San Diego Union-Tribune, was, I believe, a profound 'moment' in Rose's life. She truly understood the impact of her dedication as mirrored in the lives and shared sentiments of her students and colleagues, family and friends.

I told Rose before she died that I hoped to raise funds for scholarships in her name at the schools where she taught here in San Diego County. I can't think of a more fitting tribute to this remarkable person. We will be holding a memorial event in Rose's honor at San Dieguito Academy (formerly San Dieguito High School) in Encinitas at midday on April 16th, 2023. Torrey Pines High School is not able to provide contacts for students graduating there between 1976 and 1986, or for alumni who may have leadership roles related to those class years. If you have people in your social networks who could help publicize the memorial and scholarship fund drive, please share this information with them. I would be grateful.

I also hope you will consider contributing to Rose's scholarship fund.
