Rose Vestments in memory of Jill McAdam

A year ago, on March 2nd 2023, our much loved and long-serving Director of Music and friend Jill McAdam passed away. Her unexpected death was felt keenly not only in our church family, but also at Abbot’s Hill School where she had taught for many years and in the wider community. Many people knew Jill as one of the key welcoming faces of All Saints, both at services and social events. They appreciated her kindness and her wisdom, her hospitality and her sense of fun.

To mark this anniversary, All Saints Kings Langley is launching a memorial appeal in Jill’s memory. Jill’s favourite colour was pink, so the PCC has approved the materials and design for some new ‘Rose’ (pink) vestments. Lynne Head, Rene Gardner, Margaret Dicks and Sue Brazier have kindly agreed to make these vestments ‘in house’. Rose vestments are worn on the third Sunday of Advent and on Mothering Sunday. Pink is also the colour of charity Breast Cancer UK so we would like to donate an equivalent amount to this charity in Jill’s memory too. Any funds raised over and above the initial £1000 will go towards an Endowment Fund in Jill’s memory to safeguard the future of music at All Saints, helping to continue the tradition that Jill led and enjoyed for so long.
