Roseland Community Hospital Relief Fund
Donation protected
I am launching this Go Fund Me to feed the hospital nurses, doctors and staff of Roseland Community Hospital, and to support local restaurants and businesses in the Roseland community.
On April 17th the Chicago Tribune released an article focused on the dire state of Roseland Community Hospital and its staff. While Illinois is doing a great job of flattening the curve, Roseland, a neighborhood on the south side Chicago, is still struggling. Unfortunately this is typical of communities like Roseland, where 30% of its residents and 2 out of 5 children are living in poverty .
All of the hospital's ICU beds are occupied and they are forced to use emergency rooms to help with the overflow. With 95% of the patients on Medicaid, most of them have nowhere else to go.
In addition, part of the hospital kitchen staff was infected with COVID-19; because of this, the hospital can no longer provide meals to the faculty during their sometimes arduous 12-hour-work-days.
I have started this Go Fund Me campaign to help the community while we help the workers. I will partner with local businesses in Roseland by purchasing food and gift cards to donate to the hospital staff while their food services are down. This way we can help out local businesses who are suffering, and help the hospital staff focus on more important jobs than meal prep... like saving lives. In addition, I’ll be asking businesses to donate their leftover food at the end of day so we can provide for the hospital, all while preventing waste. It’s a win win win for all!
Would you consider doing 3 things?
1) Donate to this fund. 100% of the proceeds will go towards food, gift cards, and a donation directly to the hospital. I will not be keeping any of the money. I’ll be updating you each week on my facebook page with how your money is helping fight the cause.
2) I recognize this may be a difficult financial season for you. If you are unable to give at this time, I totally understand! However, would you consider sharing this video and the Go-Fund-Me link so that others you know can have the option of giving financially.
3) Pray for Roseland and it’s hospital workers, as you continue to pray for the rest of the city, state, and world at large.
My goal is to raise at least $1000 by next week, but I will continue this campaign for as long as there is a need at the hospital. Thank you so much for your time! God Bless.
