Rosemary Rosas “Life & Light" Memorial
Donation protected
Rosemary Rosas was not just another administrator in the Sunnyside School district, she was an educator at heart working tirelessly in the district that nurtured that love of education until her passing on March 29, 2021. Her death left a huge hole in the lives of not only her family and friends but to the students, staff of Desert View High School and the Sunnyside community. For over 20 years, she dedicated her life to the field of education ultimately becoming her alma mater’s principal at Desert View High School in 2018.
As a way to honor her legacy in the Sunnyside community, students and staff of Desert View High School set aside an area of green space on the DVHS campus situated near the main entrance of the school. Planned and designed by the student groups at Desert View High School, this area will be known as the “Rosemary Rosas “Life & Light" Memorial and will honor the life, contributions, and love that Ms. Rosas had as an educator and for the students, the staff of Desert View, and the Sunnyside community.
At her final staff meeting, Ms. Rosas reminded the staff that she wanted her students and colleagues to live in “Life and Light.” Her vision for the school and its students stretched well into the future and this is why this memorial will focus on the theme of “Life & Light.” We need your help to complete the memorial. The Desert View Rosemary Rosas memorial committee would like to raise $10.000 to create an area that honors not only Rosemary but her vision and dreams that she had for her students.
Please consider donating to this cause. This memorial will serve that purpose - to remember a person and figure gone too soon but whose presence will be felt for years to come.
