Rosemary's Recovery
Donation protected
Blessings everyone, my name is Ned Percival and I'm asking for help for my beloved daughter Rosemary Percival who suffered multiple injuries as a passenger in a traumatic head-on collision this past October (see link) . Thankfully there were no fatalities but her injuries were the most severe as her airbag failed to deploy and she was crushed under the floorboard against the engine. It's amazing & such a blessing she survived. After several surgeries (at least 6) repairing & mending multiple broken bones, spending 7 weeks in the hospital, she finally got to return home in December. Her recovery has been intense but she's a fierce fighter and is working hard on regaining her health & strength so that she can walk again. She's already made amazing progress with her physical therapy, learning to use a walker and waking up muscles that have been "off-line" for a few months now. She is still experiencing numbness in her pelvic area where her tailbone was broken and has challenges with the uncertainty & anxiety one may expect after such trauma. Before this incident, Rosemary was a part-time student and a full time cook in Bear Creek, NC but since then remains unemployed. Her first application for disability was rejected so I'm asking for help with her basic living expenses. Becca Poe & her family have been tremendous support to Rosemary's recovery along with many friends and family but there is a dire need for financial assistance in her continuing care. Expenses include: food & groceries, gas to reach doctor and on-going physical therapy appointments, housing & utility bills, medical equipment & accessories, as well as the endless "unexpected" things that arise. Besides awaiting disability approval, Rosemary is also anticipating approval for Medicaid (as she was uninsured) to begin the process of paying the five-figure sum of hospital bills not covered by UNC-charity care. Other than finances, any time that anyone can share with their loving presence to visit her or in just reaching out to her is also precious, healing and very appreciated.
