It seemed an insurmountable amount of money, but then we thought, what if 1,000 people donated $100 each? Maybe this thing that seemed impossible for so long is possible.

It can be difficult to ask for help, especially financial help, and it gets even more emotionally complicated when it comes to something so personal and intimate. Unlike many others, our family can't start without a big financial investment up front. Building our family via surrogacy, we have a somewhat daunting goal (it will cost upwards of $180,000 in total). I had to have a hysterectomy in after suffering from Acute Adenomyosis that went misdiagnosed for 15 years. It was an extremely painful process and I was heartbroken to lose my ability to carry children so young, so definitively. But we have lived a lot of life, known a lot of folks and hope to be able to reach many with this fundraiser to make our dream of having a family, a reality. The monetary gifts we receive will be used to create and support our family, and we will live in gratitude and appreciation for every word of encouragement, every shared post, every hug, every dollar donated.
