Ross Bullington Medical Care
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Hannah, this fund isn't for me but for my Dad, Ross Bullington - you may know him as Mr. B, from his time as a Teacher and a Principal; as Alderman Ross from his continued service to City of Ballwin; as Six Flags Security Extraordinaire since 2014, as a newly certified EMT, as a long-standing Tesla Enthusiast, as "That Tall Guy," or you may know him simply as a friend, family, or a loved one.
My Dad went into the ER on Sept. 26 and, after staying in the hospital for two weeks, was diagnosed with cancer, Multiple Myeloma, to be specific. The cancer has spread significantly around his body and has deeply affected his kidneys requiring him to need dialysis 3x a week in addition to his weekly chemo treatment and regular platelet transfusions.
He was discharged from the hospital ICU on Monday, Oct. 10 and was able to experience some brief relief of being back home with my Mom, but unfortunately has been re-admitted to the hospital as of early Thursday, Oct. 13, due to immense pain and further complications from the cancer. To top it off, he has somehow also contracted COVID, which further causes him distress.
Now my father, if you know him well, is one of the strongest (& most stubborn) men I have ever met. He will boast about his near-perfect attendance record and how he one time walked miles to school on crutches in the snow to maintain this attendance. My father refuses to admit to illness or pain and would gladly return to work at Six Flags tomorrow if my mother would allow him to, but suffice it to say he is not in a place to work right now.
With my father unable to work and my mother working tirelessly to stay by my Dad's side and care for the house and the pets, they need some help (whether they want to admit it or not). I am hoping with this GoFundMe I can raise just enough money to help my Mom and Dad adjust to this new way of living. To have the time to spend together, take care of each other, and receive treatment without the burden of worrying about a paycheck and the incoming medical bills.
If you know my Dad and/or my family please consider donating anything you can spare. If you can't, I know my Dad would be glad to have some visitors, hear some well wishes, and he certainly wouldn't turn down any yummy non-hospital food.
I may continue to post updates about my Dad here, but for a first-hand report, my Dad has been posting to his Caring Bridge page, where he journals his progress.
And to my Dad...I don't want to hear your complaints about this fund - people love you and care for you, so let them lend a helping hand if they choose.
