Ross Cemetery

This is not only about African-American History, but about American History here in our community! There are over 50 African-American servicemen buried in this cemetery that have never been recognized. They fought for their country but were buried in segregation. If you lived in Collin County and you were African American, this is the only place you could have been laid to rest. This cemetery has 2 Buffalo Soldiers laid to rest but we can only find one of the tombstones because one of them is missing. The cemetery is in dire need of a fence to keep the growing amounts of vandalism out. Our main goal is to raise $15,000 to build one.
The funds will go directly to build a fence around the property and make some necessary improvements on the grounds. Our servicemen deserve a proper place to rest.
Your donation is greatly appreciate to preserve the History of this Cemetery and the United States Men and Women that fought for our Freedom.
