WHY
It's TIME! As you probably know, I've always been passionate about music. Whether writing in my house, playing guitar at church, collaborating with friends, or traveling, music has been one of the greatest joys in my life. I've been writing music for 10+ years, mostly for the church and as my creative outlet. I've had the opportunity to record several songs for other projects, but I haven't pursued my own album, until now. I have songs that are ready to come to life and be recorded! Now is the time!
WHAT
This project will include 8 original songs (more if we raise $ beyond the goal). Some of these songs have been in the reserves for years, but most of them are new in the last year. These songs are about Jesus. They are about His Word and His worth. They reflect His patience and great love that is on display in my life. The songs reflect my story and I'd love nothing more for this GOOD news (wrapped in music and lyrics) to be plugged-in, listened-to and shared.
HOW
All of these songs will be produced by my good pal, Adrian Disch (Adrian Disch Music) in Dallas. Adrian has worked with artists such as Phil Wickham, Shane & Shane, Ben Rector and Jason Castro. He has written nearly 10 albums under various artist collaborations and under his own name. They will be mixed by my friend, Jared Fox (Fox Den Studios) in Nashville. Jared has worked with artists such as Crowder, Michael W. Smith, Lauren Daigle, Jon Foreman (of Switchfoot), Jordan Feliz, Ben Rector, Shane & Shane, Bethany Barnard, The City Harmonic and Vertical Worship. I've worked with Jared and Adrian a lot in the last few years on other projects. The album will likely be mastered by Joe Causey (Voyager Mastering) of Nashville.
COST
A professional level album requires numerous expenses. I'm so grateful that I have access to a studio (through my incredible job), but I will need to hire a producer/engineer, a mix engineer, a mastering engineer, and a couple of musicians. Adrian and I will create most of the instrumentation on this album, but I need to hire a drummer and an electric guitar player as well. On top of that, there are costs to distribute the album. I will use Catapult Distribution to distribute the songs to iTunes, Spotify, and many other online stores. I will also have artwork designed.
WHAT IF WE RAISE MORE THAN $15,000
If we raise more than the goal, I will truly be blown away! I will use the extra funds to include more songs. I have more in the reserves, but I'm limited to recording 8 songs right now with the allotted budget.
TIMELINE
We have 30 days to reach our goal! The campaign will end on April 25th. I plan to start the project immediately as funds come in, and I hope to release it before the end of the year, with a goal of releasing sometime in the fall.
WHAT I PLAN TO DO WITH IT
I will be most blessed if my daughters grow up singing these songs, and asking questions that lead to conversations about why I wrote them. Beyond that, I would love for this album to be shared, and shared some more, and for it be an encouragement and strength to anyone looking for hope and authenticity.
