Ross Hambleys funeral
Donation protected
Sadly on the 27th of June we lost a beloved member of our family, Ross Hambley.
In early September of last year Ross was told the devastating news that he had Stage IV Throat Cancer. Despite the life changing news, Ross was determined to fight this horrible disease. At the earliest convenience treatment was started to attack the cancer.
Ross underwent 2 months of frightening and traumatic high doses of radiation and chemotherapy, away from his family at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Although we all hoped this treatment was successful, unfortunately further testing and results showed the cancer was still active and present.
The cancer was advanced and aggressive which left surgery off the table and any other treatment most likely ineffective.
Alongside the cancer, Ross lost many of life’s qualities.
Had emergancy surgery to have a tracheostony placed into this throat.
He had all of his teeth removed.
Lost the ability the eat and drink, being put on a surgically placed feeding tube.
Lost the ability and quality to speak.
Was often in and out of hospital with other sicknesses such as pneumonia. Even through out all this he still managed to put a smile on and be there for his kids and grandchildren
Ross was originally given the life expectancy of 18-24 months though this was changed soon after to 3-12 months in April. Ross was a brave and courageous man throughout this process. Although in incredible and unbearable pain, Ross didn’t want to give up and leave this world.
Ross was a well-known and loved man, who left behind 6 kids and 5 grandchildren.
We understand receiving money isn’t a small favour, though any money would be greatly appreciated in assisting family in laying him to rest.
