I'm Clayton Ross and I want to journey to Boston. For grand adventures, you may ask? Not neccessarily.
For over three years I've dealt with chronic nausea. Three surgeries, four procedures, 17 doctors, and more tests than I can remember, and I'm still sick every day. I've received many different diagnoses over the years, but the most likely culprit seems to be Superior Canal Dehiscence Syndrome. I was bed-ridden before my first surgery because walking proved to be too difficult. Most of my vertigo and dizziness have been fixed over the years, but the unceasing waves of nausea continue to crash over me.
Before my string of illnesses, I was working through college with the hope to live overseas and do mission work. That, along with the rest of my life, is on hold. I'm less than thrilled about being a 27 year old man that, for the time being, simply cannot be independent.
Recently, my favorite nausea medicine has stopped working and my local doctors have run out of ideas. Some family connections and divine intervention have led me to a specialist in Boston, MA.
The doctor I'm scheduling with in Boston is an Otoneurologist known for his work with SCDS. With his expertise, he should be able to determine if SCDS is the cause of my nausea!
Because of my health, I can't safely live alone, much less travel alone. That means airfare for multiple visits to this doctor will be doubled so my dad can travel with me. If I'm lucky, my doctor will schedule several days of testing in a row to decrease the number of flights.
Money will also be needed for hotels, as lodging in the heart of Boston is measured in the hundreds per night.
