Rotaract for Hurricane Dorian Relief
Donation protected
On September 1st, 2019 Hurricane Dorian struck the islands of the Bahamas. At category 5 with winds up to 220 mph, the devastation it created was unprecedented.
Parts of the country were hit with massive storm surges, uprooted trees, overturned power lines, and dangerous debris. Whole communities have felt the impact, with power and cell service being down for many, an estimated 13,000 homes damaged or destroyed, and food, water, and medicine in low supply.
We are the Rotaract Club of the University of Prince Edward Island, and our members come from not just the Bahamas but from around the world. We have always sought to help communities wherever and whenever we can, and the Bahamas desperately needs that support now.
All money raised will be given to the Disaster Relief Committee of the Rotary Clubs of the Bahamas. It will be used to purchase must needed supplies in the communities most severely impacted. No donation is too small, and in times of crisis, communities must pull together to weather the storm.
