Rotary Shelter Boxes for Haiti Earthquake Relief

The Wyckoff-Midland Park Rotary Club is able to match every dollar donated up to $6,000. If we reach our goal we will be able to donate 6 Shelter Boxes within the next several weeks.

A Shelter Box provides complete shelter with everything needed from a shelter, clean water, cooking, to even continued schooling all in one box that will allow for an extended family of 10 to be able to survive for a year. Please see https://www.shelterboxusa.org/.

The Haiti earthquake of magnitude of 7.2 was almost immediately followed by Hurricane Fred which resulted in more than 1,600 dead and 10,000's displaced with no homes. This double natural disaster coupled with near collapse of the Haitian government with the recent assassination of their president. These facts almost assure that help and eventual recovery in Haiti will take a very long time and a very long time for many families to go with no shelter. Shelter Box deployment can have an immediate impact to the people suffering as a result of the earthquake.
