Fundraiser for our community's real-life George Bailey - Tom Rowan

Tom and Marla have been tireless contributors to our community over decades, so when their house in Point Dume burned to the ground, we naturally wanted to help. When we learned that their insurance company wants to stiff them to the tune of 120k, we realized how.

We have started a fund to help them meet the shortfall so they can rebuild the same, 2500 square foot house that they lost and resume their life in their home of over 40 years. Sure life is wonderful…let’s help prove it. 
 
It has been a shocking loss for Marla and Tom, but they are inspired by the love of their friends and remain positive. Marla has written, with admirable courage:
 
          “We may not have many earthly goods at the moment but we are rich with friends and family whom we love and adore!!  Feeling very blessed!!  This is my big chance to reinvent myself.”
 
It is a long journey ahead.  We hope to pave the tough road for these lovely and generous people by gathering the funds they'll need over the next year to be able to return home.
