Rowena’s Green & Gold Indoor Hockey Journey!

Hello Everyone,
I’m Rowena, and I'm thrilled to have you visit my GoFundMe Page – Rowena's Green & Gold Indoor Hockey Journey! - Indoor Hockey World Cup Nottingham, UK.
Firstly, let me express the depth of my gratitude. This is a somewhat uncomfortable endeavour for me, as I'm not accustomed to asking for help or boasting about personal achievements. Typically, I'm the one proudly sharing the accomplishments of my kids. Yet, here I am, stepping out of my comfort zone because the reason behind this GoFundMe page is nothing short of thrilling. I've been selected to represent Australia in the upcoming Indoor Hockey World Cup, set for March 2024.
It has always been my enduring dream to proudly wear the Green and Gold, representing Australia at an Indoor Hockey international level. The thought of making my family, friends, workplace, state, and country proud fills me with immense joy.
For those who may not know me well, let me share a bit about my sporting journey. Born and raised in the world of Hockey, with my parents, uncles, aunties, older brother, sister, and friends guiding and developing me throughout my hockey career. Hockey isn't just a sport for me; it's a passion that I've instilled in my own children. From club to state, national, and Australian levels, I've embraced every opportunity. Most of my hockey achievements have been in outdoor hockey, and my excitement to play Indoor hockey when I was old enough knew no bounds. I’ve not only played hockey but also umpired at the international level, coached, managed, and mentored juniors, and been a steadfast support to family and friends at every tournament.
As a devoted single mum to four incredible kids - Dominic (17 years), Lillian (16 years), Abigail (12 years), and Jeremy (9 years) - I've actively encouraged them to pursue their dreams. Pursuing dreams, I've learned, comes with a significant financial commitment and challenge. Sacrifices have been made, tournaments missed, and opportunities passed up to provide for my children. But when the unexpected opportunity to represent Australia at the Indoor Masters World Cup came knocking on my door on December 12th, 2023, it ignited a fire in my heart that I can't help but share with you.
In my role as a teacher, I've had the privilege to be a role model not only for my class but also for my school and the community. I believe that age is no barrier to striving, working hard, and achieving remarkable accomplishments. Growing up doesn't mean we stop pursuing our dreams; it's an opportunity to show that passion and dedication are timeless.
The estimated cost for the Indoor World Cup, covering flights, accommodation, insurance, Australian uniforms, travel, leave, and additional expenditures, is approximately $7500. The value of representing one's country, donning the Green and Gold, and playing a beloved sport is immeasurable.
Discovering that I had been selected to represent Australia in the Indoor Masters World Cup was an incredible Christmas gift. However, the short turnaround to afford this once-in-a-lifetime experience is where your support becomes invaluable. Your generous contributions will play a pivotal role in turning this dream into a reality. Every donation, regardless of size, brings me a step closer to proudly representing Australia at the Masters Indoor World Cup.
I am profoundly grateful for those who have already contributed. Your support means more to me than words can express. Please share my page with your friends and family to be a part of this incredible journey.
Thank you for being a crucial part of my team and helping turn this dream into reality.
