Rowing the English Channel for NHS nurses
Fundraiser By: Edouard Molhant Proost Jamie Ginsberg Louis Clarke Oscar Kirk Francesco Calice Ptolemy Egan
We are rowing the distance of the English Channel, 34km, on rowing machines to raise money for our NHS nurses.
Nurses are on the front lines saving lives during this COVID-19 crisis, but are still understaffed, overworked and without sufficient protection. Medical staff forced to self isolate do not get the same sick pay compensation that other workers do, and often struggle to pay living costs. Many nurses have had severe cases of the virus often being exposed to a high viral load in hospitals. The money donated in this fundraiser will go towards buying protective equipment for nurses, as well as supporting and caring for nurses who have fallen sick.
