Preserve Roxie Theatre of San Antonio: Cares Fund
Donation protected
Partner with the Roxie Cares Campaign today. Anyone who has been to the Roxie to experience the intimate type of show that can only be done at the Roxie Theatre understands that there are few experiences like it in San Antonio. For the first time in the 13+ year history of the our THEATRE COMPANY we had to close our doors until further notice as mandated by the State of Texas.
Roxie Theatre has always been the home of fantastic, award-winning shows and performers who bring their very best to San Antonio. Unfortunately, those creative artists, musicians, bartenders and box office assistants who previously helped, now find themselves without that income as a result of the temporary closure of the Roxie Theatre. Many of our team relied on ticket sales and bar sales as their sole source of income. Over the course of the past 13+ years of non-stop work, our team has completely dedicated their lives and means of living to devise a immersive creative space for the entire community to enjoy, and a sanctuary & safe house that welcomes every human being with wide opens arms.
Please consider a gift of $50 or more. Recently a regular patron asked if they could donate what they would have spent on tickets and at the bar at an average show to support the team here at the Roxie. This generous thought inspired me to set up this campaign page. Any funds will be used to assist our production team by keeping the theatre alive so when we return to normal when this crisis is over. Also, to provide encouragement, music, comedy and other forms of entertainment during this time when people cannot go out to live shows, we can bring glimpses of live shows to your computer presented through live stream and video.
Thank you for being a Partner of the Roxie Cares Campaign today. We appreciate your generosity and are grateful that you are supporting our team & staff during this closure by helping us uphold your local Roxie Theatre Venue & Performance Spaces for the future. By you giving, it will help us see that the rent and insurance are paid through the end of 2020. We cannot wait to get back to entertaining you. In the mean time, we will be doing it online with the ROXIE CARES CAMPAIGN. Please let us know through your giving that you believe in what we stand for and that we stand together, United.
Sincerely,
The Entire Roxie Theatre Team and
Jonathan Pennington
Owner/Executive Artistic Director Roxie Theatre
COMPANY MISSION:
Our Company's Mission has always been to support and sustain our local artistic community and for adult patrons to have refreshing local wine and/or beer together while experiencing our friendly artistic Staff & Cast inside Paris' Sideshow Theatrical Stage Venue, P.T.'s Cabaret Piano Bar, and our Underground Speakeasy.
In addition to entertainment for the community, the Roxie Theatre Company educates young artists in music, dance & creative stage movement, and the art of acting on stage. No student is left behind and we encourage diversity and respect of all cultures. Our education program starts at age 6 and extends to age 18+ (elementary, middle school, high school)
