Roxie’s Cancer/Kidney Treatment

Hi, our names are Amanda and Denise. This is our 8 year old Yorkie/Maltese mix Roxie. We’ve had her ever since she was only 2 months old, and she’s been the light of our lives and everyone else’s she’s met ever since!
Recently, we found that she had a lump on her side. We took her to the doctor to check it out, and before we knew it it was quadrupled in size. She was recently diagnosed with a type of osteosarcoma and stage 3 kidney disease. We decided to take her to CSU veterinary teaching school as our last hope as they have one of the best Oncology centers and they are giving us some hope finally. Unfortunately upon bringing her there, she was also diagnosed to be severely anemic with heart disease and pancreatitis. She had to be immediately hospitalized for blood transfusions, and had to be hospitalized for a further 3 days to keep her fluids right due to her severe kidney infection. All of this happened to us very suddenly and I knew I had to do absolutely everything I could for her. With it being so sudden, the cost of all the emergency medical attention has definitely set us back, so that’s why I’m here. Roxie needs your help. Her immediate blood transfusion, fluids for her kidneys and the overnight 24 hour care hasn’t been easy on any of us, especially her. She also had to have an echo done on her heart due to the heart disease they found, and she also had to have a CT scan for the osteosarcoma tumor on her side that’s now bigger than a baseball. It’s forming on/in her chest cavity on the ribcage wall and it’s starting to hit her organs, like her lungs and heart and it’s very painful for her. The CT scan will show us how to properly treat it, whether it be surgery or radiology treatment if it’s not operable. Plus with all the overnight stays, it’s just been very overwhelming for us but I can’t sit back and do nothing. She deserves a fuller life, like I said before she’s only 8 years old. I just went to give her the happy and long life she deserves. Roxie is our first dog to have ever come in our lives and steal our hearts. Never is she away from her grandma (my mom) or myself besides work and vacation. This was her very first time ever away from us. She is the light of our world, she's the reason our home is full, which is why we are exploring all options and doing absolutely everything we can in our power to make sure she's getting the best care possible. As we all know, vet bills can really stack up and it's reached $7,000 so far and will probably continue to climb. We've never done this, we are just hoping to seek some help with her medical costs to lift some weight from my moms shoulders. Anything truly helps, and my family thanks you for taking the time for caring about our perfect fur family member and if you decide to help out our little Roxie, it’s truly so so appreciated.
