Royal British Legion Band and Corps of Drums
Donation protected

Behind this fundraiser is Sarah and Georgina. Both of us was apart of the band for many years, and through the generations. It was a big part of our lives and like many others was apart of this organisation too. It would be of great help to donate to this fund, no matter how little your donation may be. Please read the tragic story below from the Band Director- Ian Yeoman.
It is with great sadness that I am telling you there was a fire at the band hall on Wednesday 30th September. There is extensive damage to the drum room and smoke damage throughout the premises. The drum section has lost everything to slings to all the drums, including the Kirk Redpath memorial drums. For anybody that doesn’t know, Kirk Redpath was part of the Royal British Legion band for many of years, and sadly lost his life serving our country in Iraq. The fire is being treated as Arson so, there is an ongoing police investigation.
We as band are devistated but, we will all pull together to sort this and carry on. We are fortunate and thankful that the Brentwood imperial band are loaning us drums and base drum to get us through Remembrance Sunday and any other shows we may have. Thanks also to the legion club for allowing us our premises to practice in for the foreseeable future.
