Royal Stoke Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Donation protected
on the 12th November 2023, myself and my friend will be running a half marathon to raise money for the Royal Stoke Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
After mine and my husband’s daughter was born prematurely at 25 weeks, weighing a tiny 1lb 11oz, she was immediately resuscitated and rushed to the intensive care unit.
during her 94 day stay, she had to undergo hundreds of procedures including blood transfusions and emergency surgery to name a few. Throughout this time, the incredible nurses, doctors and consultants saved her life so many times, and there were many days where we very nearly lost her.
The staff here celebrated the good days, but also cried beside us on the bad.
I would like to raise money for this unit as a gesture of thanks to the incredible people who we owe our daughter’s life to, but also for the future NICU parents who find themselves in the unimaginable situation that we did.
money raised can be used to fund life saving equipment and resources for all of the babies, items to make the unit as comfortable as possible for parents, such as toiletries, sanitary items, breast pumps and tiny neonatal nappies but also equipment such as cuddle cots, so that parents can spend time with their babies in the most unfortunate of circumstances, before saying goodbye
nobody ever plans to end up needing them, but over 90,000 babies in the UK are born every year requiring NICU support,so please help support this amazing unit ❤️
