Roy&Julie be together after his Cancer diagnosis

Everyone knows my legendary step dad Roy, whether you have been in his taxi, out for drinks with him or even at the Grove with his crazy dance moves! He is the most kindhearted, genuine and doting husband, dad, stepdad and grandad.
I can’t believe I’m writing this, but about 6 weeks ago Roy became unwell. He was extremely breathless, had severe back pain and fatigue. With no improvement after 3 trips to the hospital he was brought back for further tests. Sadly it was found that he has stage 4 cancer with multiple metastasis including in his spine and 20 tumors in his brain. We have been told that he is now palliative and sadly too poorly to undergo further treatment.
On top of this, my mum, his wife, has just been told she requires urgent surgery for health concerns which they have said they can not risk postponing.
My mum has been with Roy every step of the way. Those of you who know them, know they absolutely adore one another. They are the most content, doting couple who only need each other’s company.
The reason I am asking for help is so my mum can continue to be by his bedside. Neither of them are well enough to work so are really struggling financially. All my mum wants is to be with her husband by his side for the rest of the time they have together.
With the news we received yesterday about my mum needing surgery, she will now also not be able to drive during her recovery. This means she will be relying on taxis and the kindness of friends and family to get her to Dorchester daily to be with him. As you can imagine, this is completely out of their means and has left my mum feeling completely devastated and overwhelmed with how she will manage to afford to be with Roy. I just want to alleviate some of her stress and worry so she can concentrate solely on being by his side and getting herself better.
I appreciate that times are very hard for everyone at the moment but anything that you are able to contribute, however small, is hugely appreciated.
Love to all and be sure to make time for your loved ones x
