Please Help Flabby Get Back on His Feet

Thanks for visiting this page. My name is Lee Klawans and I've known Flabby Hoffman for a long time. He's a good friend of mine. If you're a Chicago musician, surely you have played a show with Flabby or been booked into one by him. He's a true renaissance man; a musician, graphic artist, prolific writer, actor, movie maker and more.

On Friday, May 21 his employee Traci Trouble called me over to his novelty store, the Extraordinarium in Logan Square because he wasn't feeling well. I got there and he was pretty out of it, so I called an ambulance. The firemen took him to Norwegian Hospital (Humboldt Health.) He was there for four days and not getting much better so he was transported by me in his minivan (don’t ask, it was traumatic for both of us) to St. Francis in Evanston.
Now (May 28) he's headed to an extended care facility for treatment & physical therapy.

He has a urinary tract infection and he received intravenous antibiotics for that, however, he has preexisting conditions (gout, etc.) that make any illness more severe. He is barely able to stand and can’t walk at all.
Flabby opened his store right before Covid hit and like everyone else was shut down for many months.
He can really use some help paying his medical bills and keeping the store afloat. We're still not sure how long he's going to require care. Please donate what you can or stop by the store (2800 N Milwaukee) and pick up an action figure, board game or gag gift. Thanks, I'll make sure he gets all the money donated.
