Update:
Hi Everyone,

Here we are once again. This is never a fun thing to write let alone accept. Unfortunately, Carlos is fighting a new fight. He beat cancer the first go around but now it's back. The cancer is now in his lymphnodes, abdomen, lungs, perotineum and spreading.  Carlos opted to try chemotherapy in hopes to prolong his 6-9 months diagnosis. His first round of chemo did not go well. He had a severe allergic reaction and it landed him in the ER for over 25 hours and hooked to an IV.  Carlos has now opted to go forth with a new treatment plan which includes vitamins, supplements, herbs and other natural remedies including a new food and diet overhaul and possibly an acupunturist and a naturopath. This in turn will be a new expense that he will incur. We are doing all this in hopes that it not only extend his time with us, but gives him a better quality of life while he is with us. We have all seen the research on cancer fighting foods so this ultimately brings us the hope that with all this, maybe we can kick cancer and the horrible diagnosis right in the kiester! I know this is a lot to ask for but we appreciate any and all help given. Thank you all in advance.

The Batres Family

Hello Everyone,

Most of you that know me, know my brother Carlos. Most of you that know him, know that he is the most selfless person ever. After my mom passed away when we were kids, he stepped and helped raise my younger sister and I. Carlos put a roof over our head when we had none. He did everything for us that a father would. With that said, I love my brother for being an amazing brother but a lot more for being a father. Carlos is very sick right now and will be out of work for several weeks. I am reaching out to all of you to ask you for some prayer and support.

On Thursday October, 14 my brother wasn’t feeling well. He was tired, weak and had stomach pain. By Friday October 15, 2015, my brother became very ill. He was rushed to the ER and after tests were administered, a blockage was found in his intestine. He had internal bleeding and his blood platelets were severely low. A normal hemoglobin count is 14 and he was at a 5.5. Doctors had informed him that had he waited a few more days, he may not have been with us today. Saturday he was admitted for a routine biopsy surgery to test the mass. While in surgery, the doctors felt that it looked and seemed to be cancerous and removed the mass along with 80% of his colon.  We found out today that the mass is cancerous. Carlos has cancer in his intestines and will soon meet with a specialist. He has a long road to recovery (at least another week in the hospital) 6 weeks no work, physical therapy and now cancer treatments. We are asking for donations to help him and his wife avoid the physical and financial stresses at the same time.

Prayers are forever needed and appreciated. Monetary donations in any amount will help extremely with mounting hospital bills and regular bills starting to slowly pile up. Although Adrianne works, a lot of work has been missed during this situation and more will be missed as she helps take care of my brother. We want to thank you in advance for any help you can give. A thank you to all of you who have already visited and those who will visit in the future.

Thank you,
