Rebuilding Killbuck Lodge

Killbuck Lodge is an original 1700's log cabin that was located on the Robb Farm in North Fayette Township approximately 15 miles from Pittsburgh.   After centuries of adverse weather, the structure is in need of major repairs. The lodge is currently used by the Boy Scouts as a meeting place for various types of activities.  The 18-by-36-foot cabin was 150 years old when dedicated to Boy Scout Troop 248 in 1932. The log cabin is one of the oldest homesteads in Allegheny County, named in honor and memory of the great Delaware Chief Killbuck, an influential fixture in the growth of the Greater Pittsburgh area.  

 The Friends of Killbuck Lodge,(FOKL) is a 501-c3 organization was formed to raise funds to restore the 200 year old cabin.  Our mission statement states we want  “To forge connections between past and present generations, fostering an appreciation of the past and a sense of place within our community's history by restoring and preserving Killbuck Lodge and surrounding property”.  Our hope is Killbuck lodge will be used by other organizations and groups as it has in the past.

The DIY Network's Barnwood Builders television show has agreed to partner with the Friends of the Killbuck Lodge to dismantle the cabin, evaluate existing logs, and reassemble the cabin with donor logs from a former 1700’s cabin in Westmoreland County 

FOKL will be responsible for the grading, a new entrance to the property, the foundation and deck for the new cabin to sit on. Once the Barnwood Builders has completed the rebuild, FOKL will have to complete the project with roofing, plumbing, electricity and landscaping.

With your help, this grand and rustic building, which has stood the passing of time, will be brought back to life to give current and future generations an opportunity to enjoy the splendor Killbuck Lodge.
