Fighting to beat cancer

Hi, my name is Crystal I’m 29 years old, a mother and a step mom to many little humans. I’ve been diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer. I was just diagnosed in January. Since then I have dealt with many obstacles through my course of treatment. One of them was having to quit working due to being hospitalized every week and needing blood transfusions. I currently am receiving chemo once a week and radiation every day during the week. My drives to the clinic are not close and my bills are not getting easier on me. I’m not sure when I’ll be able to return to work as of now. I still have 13 more rounds of external radiation to go through and 2 more rounds of chemo. After that I’ll have a 1-2 week break and I’ll have to go to Loyola in Chicago got my next set of internal radiation where they will keep me admitted. This journey has not been easy on our family and it’s coming to a point where we are starting to worry about what’s going to happen when we can’t pay anything. My boyfriend currently can’t work because he’s taking care of our kids and also driving me to and from every appointment I have everyday because I cannot drive. I have applied for cancer grants, and talked to social workers and unfortunately nothing has taken into effect at all. It’s very unfortunate and embarrassing to me that I am reaching out because I have always been able to provide but I am setting my pride aside and asking for help from my community.

September 9th update

So I just wanted to give another update to my family and friends since it’s been awhile. Recently this last month has been an emotional stressful roller coaster. So I have had lots of scans done, surgeries, and not so much good of news. A few weeks ago I was struggling with kidney pains which led to the hospital putting neph tubes in my back that drain my urine because I have a tumor blocking a ureter and my urine wasn’t able to make it to my bladder it was backing up into my kidneys. I went for more scans because I have not been feeling well and my cancer is back and it has spread. The other day I have found out I have a mass in my lung as well as my cervix, bladder and possibly my lymph nodes again but It is unsure until I see the doctor on Tuesday. As of right now I am needing assistance with walking, showering and I am completely dependent on Jr to take care of me. Currently we are behind on everything again and have until the 19th and the 20th to have our electric and out rent paid before it is shut off and before our landlord tries to evict us. I didn’t want to have to bring my GoFund me back out from a few months ago but right now I need the help more than anything for my family. We are trying everything we can to stay afloat and all of this bad news is piling up on us so I’m asking for everyone to share my page,pray and donate if you can. Thank you all again.
