Stage 4 colorectal cancer

"Hello everyone, my name is Marko Rangel, and wanted to share part of my health journey with you.

Last year, on July 28, 2022, I had a a life threatening health scare – a heart attack. It was a tough time for me, but thanks to modern medicine, I was able to undergo a double bypass surgery, which saved my saved not only my heart, but my life as well.

Unfortunately, life threw another challenge at me: a few months later, I received a diagnosis of stage III colorectal cancer. Since then, I have been undergoing chemotherapy treatments at the West Texas Cancer Center. The process has been very demanding, including carrying a 48-hour pump at home to administer the medication effectively.

In May, I underwent a scan that brought further distressing news. The cancer had spread to my liver, making this now a stage IV. In search of the best care available, I was referred to MD Anderson. While I am blessed to be able to have access to the best care possible, it has still been a difficult journey as me and my family have been making frequent trips to Houston, TX for treatment.

To cope with the upcoming surgeries and associated expenses, we have set up this page in request of your support. Your contributions will go towards covering the remaining costs for these surgeries and other cancer care.
