Master's in Addiction Counseling

Hi, I'm Chuck Nelson. I am fund-raising to get my Master's degree in addiction counseling. I was working two years ago as an Emergency Medicine physician but suffered from dissociative complex PTSD made worse by burnout, COVID, and addiction. I sought treatment and have been successful yet I have physical limitations from long COVID. I am well-studied in addiction and am applying for the Master's program at Hazelden Betty Ford in Minnesota.

UPDATE! I have been accepted to Hazelden’s graduate school program for my Masters degree in Addiction and Co-occurring disorders! I start after Labor Day. I am anxious to get back to helping in the healing arts, especially those suffering with addiction. It is a horrific place to be and I know I can help. We sorely need mental health providers and advocates.
