Local Defibrillators
Donation protected
In August 2015 my dad suffered a cardiac arrest at around 4:30am at home. Luckily my mum woke and reacted quickly, ringing the ambulance and preforming CPR until the paramedics reached my dad. When they got to him, he wasn't breathing and his heart was in an irregular rythem. They shocked him once with the defibrillator, put him in an induced coma and took him to Kings Mill Hostpital to stabilise him, before he spent 3 weeks in City Hospital's Critical Care Unit, and then the Accute Cardiac Ward.
Luckily, my dad has managed to make an amazing recovery and he is currently attending cardiac rehab classes at Kings Mill.
The chance of survival after suffering an Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest is 8.6%, and when someone has a cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces their chances of survival by 7-10%.
Without my mum being able to preform CPR, our story would have been very different, but I have seen how defibillators can save a life!
I am planning to raise enough money to buy defibillators for the local area, in easy to reach places and places where people are throughout the day.
If this could save just one life, it will definitely be worth it!
Me and a few family members are tag teaming the distance from London to Paris on a spin bike! (285 miles)
We are also going to be running spin classes thought out the hours we will be spending on the bike:
10am Ruby's Class
12pm Gary's Class
£5 per person, per spin class and obviously all these proceeds will also be donated to our cause. Please text your name and time of preferred class to Ruby on 07792526611 to book your bike to avoid disappointment on the day!
This will be open to everybody as an open weekend at Pure Gym Mansfield on Saturday 23th April 2016. I hope to see a few friendly faces joining us for 45 minutes of our journey!
This cause is so close to my heart, and any kind of donation will be greatly appreciated!
