Bringing Peanut Home...
Hi everyone.
Kimi "aka" Peanut is my beautiful girl. She is 18, and her favorite thing in the world to do is dance. She adores Keith Urban, but really any music with a good beat.
Kimi was losing her ability to walk and spending more and more time in the wheelchair (probably because of pain). After much reflection and soul searching, we made the decision to surgically repair the bi-lateral breaks in both her feet.
Peanuts surgery was on June 16, 2015 at BC children's hospital. It was 9 hours, and involved bone transplantation from her hips (bone-grafting). The amazing surgeon was Dr. Alvarez. ..
The pic was taken the morning of the surgery. Her fighting little spirit was evident...if she could speak I am sure she would be saying..."ready set go".
The surgery was mostly a success, but complications after the surgery means she will likely need another and possibly two more surgeries. Even with the additional surgeries, stairs are going to be a challenge for her. So, Kimi needs her home adapted so that she can come home.
to bring Kimi home we need a stairlift, a ceiling track lift, and a bathroom reno... Will you help bring Kimi home?
Thanks from Peanut and her mom....
