Seat lift

Donation protected
Matthew has been in a manual wheelchair since he was paralyzed. During his most recent visit at the wheelchair clinic they recommended that Matthew transition over part time to a power wheelchair with an elevating seat lift.

The seat lift will actually elevate him where he can, at the push of a button, be lifted up to reach things on higher levels like cabinets and grocery shelves. We are very excited as this will add a little bit more independence to his activities of daily life. (Woohoo)!

We are very grateful that his insurance will cover this wheelchair but have been informed that he would have to pay out of pocket for the elevating seat lift before the chair is ordered. The cost is $2400.

Due to the fact that Matthew was so young when he became disabled and had not yet worked enough to qualify for social security disability he only receives SSI. This leaves him very limited financially at this time. Matthew is currently in his second semester of school to become a drug and alcohol rehab counselor and this makes his plate very full at this time.

I've created this for him in case any of our friends or family feel led to help him reach the goal so his chair can be ordered as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance!
