Help Nathan get his children home to Scotland
Donation protected
My name is Nathan Gilmour and I have not seen my children since July 2019 when my wife removed my now 6-year-old daughter and 4 year-old son from Scotland. I believe that they are now located in the TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) which means I cannot take action under conventions to return my children home to Scotland.
Scottish authorities state that they are unable to take action to bring my children home. Over the last two years, I have been pushing to bring my children back, but Scottish legislation is in conflict with the Child Abduction Act 1984, which has not only stood in my way but created a loophole in the law. In the rest of the UK, this legislation prevents any parent from taking their child(ren) abroad without the consent of another parent or carer, thus if a child is removed from the UK by their parent, police will assist in finding and returning them. However, this does not apply in Scotland unless there are specific court orders in place.
I am asking today for help to raise funds towards the costs associated with judicial review of Scots law in this area. My children are at risk, having been completely cut off from their father and their wider family. They are being denied an education and childhood here in Scotland. Essentially, they are being denied their rights as Scottish citizens.
Two Scottish children are missing, yet no action seems to be open to me and others like me. I am asking today for any help, to not only get my children home to Scotland but also to prevent this from happening to other families, protecting vulnerable children in future.
