Meet Carmen Meza. She was recently diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. Mrs. Meza has a long road to recovery. The doctors are projecting her cancer journey will take over a year of treatment with a 15 to 20 percent survival rate.
She is currently undergoing bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments. Once she completes 6 months of chemotherapy she will then undergo a 5 week radiation treatment. After that, she is scheduled for a clinical trial at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. The final step of her recovery will be surgery to remove the cancerous mass at Johns Hopkins. Carmen is having to travel from El Paso to Johns Hopkins for doctor’s appointments and treatments.
Mrs. Meza is a mother, wife, sister and a friend. She has been married to her husband for 36 years. She has two daughters Natalie and Carmen Marie. She is a loving and caring woman who is relying on her faith and family to see her through these hard times. She is a ray of light to all who know her and most importantly the rock and center of her family.
Mrs. Meza has worked as a CBP Officer for 18 years. She started her career in Del Rio, Texas as a Canine Officer in 2002. In 2005, she transferred to El Paso to reunite with her husband and daughters. Since moving back to El Paso Mrs. Meza has worked with different tactical units while assigned as a CBP Officer at the Port of El Paso.
I would really appreciate any help provided to help Mrs. Meza and her family who are going through this difficult time. Every little bit helps and could assist to help with the stress of income for all of the medical and travel expenses to and from Johns Hopkins where Mrs. Meza will be receiving some of her treatments. Thank you for your time and donations. God Bless.
