RTA supports Revere families
Tax deductible
The Revere Teachers Association (RTA) is partnering with The Neighborhood Developers (TND) to support families in Revere during the COVID-19 emergency. Donations will be used to pay up to $1,000 toward rent, utilities, and other essential bills for needy families, prioritizing those who have lost their jobs but aren't eligible for unemployment or are in other particularly vulnerable situations. Any family in Revere who is in need of this assistance can apply for the grant.
TND has already disbursed $15,000 to stabilize housing for 18 high-risk families, including several in Revere, using funding from the United Way. TND will distribute 100% of funds without spending on overhead costs. Our donations will allow them to help more families in need. They expect another $10,000 from in United Way soon, and RTA wants to at least match that donation.
The RTA is grateful to the City of Revere for continuing to pay our critical school workers during this time. In acknowledging our privileged position, we are working to support families in our community who do not have the same financial security.
