Help the Steele Family

My name is Casey, and I am fundraising on behalf of Akil Steele, owner of Texas Steele BBQ, and his family.

I've had the pleasure of working for Akil for a few months now and have learned how much of a truly hardworking, kind, and determined individual he is in that time, and how much of an effort he makes to balance family and work time.

After a long battle with diabetes, Akil's wife, Jen, recently faced a life-altering decision that led to the amputation of both of her feet. This has not only changed her life physically but has also created significant financial strain for the family, including Akil and Jen's two boys, 12 and 5 months old, due to mounting medical bills and necessary adjustments to their living situation. Jen is currently in physical rehab, and Akil is finding it hard to maintain that balance, pay medical and living costs, purchase necessary medical equipment for when she is able to come back home, and keep the business that he worked so hard to get started afloat.
