Dan's Fundraiser

In April 2022, I was diagnosed with left kidney cancer. Testing revealed that I also have prostate cancer that has spread to the bones in my ribs, spins, shoulder, sternum, and several lymph nodes. After several biopsies, a plan of treatment began.

I have received five radiation treatments, targeting the lesions on my ribs that temporarily eliminated the bone cancer pain. In September, I had my left kidney removed. In mid-October I started a series of six chemotherapy infusions, with the final one in February.

From May through August, the pain was excruciating, only being relieved by sitting perfectly still in my recliner. So I was unable to work, even part-time. My career of 48 years was terminated prematurely and has negatively affected my retirement plans.

I am thankful that my insurance is covering my medical bills, however I am feeling the impact of not being able to work. I may be forced to sell my home and any funds generated by this fundraiser will be used to prevent that.
