Paul's Home Healthcare Fund
Donation protected
Marilyn and Paul had been married for 18 years, when a sudden fall and subsequent surgery left Paul a paraplegic. They need help with money to hire home health care workers so that Marilyn can continue to work. Paul is not well enough to stay at home alone. Marilyn estimates that the equipment needed and the home health care workers will cost about $35,000 a year which insurance won't cover.
In Marilyn's own words:
"All these extra expenses, and I can't afford a couple of hours of help each day to let me get out, food shop, clear my head...Even 'under the table' help is $12/ hour for four hours per day, just five days per week to help him bath, dress (a long process with the braces and elastic socks), get some breakfast and settle into his chair for the rest of the day) and help him get breakfast while I run out to do errands would be over $12K/year!
So, will I allow you to do a "fund me"? Yes. I try to give generously when I can and maybe it's time to allow it to "come around"."
