PAKISTAN FLOOD RELIEF: RU MSA HOPE x HELPING HAND

Pakistan is experiencing a massive flood considered the worst in history: with more than 1500 dead and over 33 million displaced. The floods began in June 2022 and continued through August 2022. Due to heavy rainfalls and landslides, roads are being swept away, bridges are collapsing and houses are surrounded by floodwater. Crops and livestock are devastated, leading to food shortages and inflation in prices of basic needs. Community-based water sources are heavily contaminated and waterborne diseases are leading to illness. More than 200,000 houses were destroyed and many more damaged. Abu Hurairah(RA) narrated that The Prophet (SAW) said: “Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens on the Day of Judgment. And whoever helps ease a difficulty in the world, Allah will grant him ease from a difficulty in the world and in the Hereafter (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1930, Book 27, Hadith 36). Let’s work together to provide aid and rebuild Pakistan in lieu of such a horrific tragedy.
