Ruben Frias lost his only remaining foot due to diabetes.

He has struggled with the disease for over three decades and has not had access to figure out proper treatment (i.e. the right amount of insulin, when to test, etc.)

Three years ago, he lost his right foot from a quick-spreading infection.

Now, less than a month ago, Frias suffered another infection and had his left leg amputated. After taking an ambulance to St. John's ER and undergoing the amputation, he was held in the PCU for over two weeks.

The costs of his emergency care, plus the prosthetics, will likely be tens of thousands of dollars.

He works as a janitor at Jackson Hole Airport and may be losing his job due to recovery. If he loses this job, he will also lose his health insurance.
