My dad wad diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on February 20, 2017. He was alone and scared when he got the news but I was in town the next day letting him know he had my support. He told me he wanted to fight and beat this thing. His goal was to see my son graduate high school in 8 years. I promised him that I'd be here to help him fight that battle every step of the way. I moved him here with me to GA and we found the best doctors in town. In between doctors visits, we made time to celebrate life. We shared every holiday 2017 had to offer. He spent QT with his grandson. I even surprised him with the huge birthday party in the park with all of his family and friends. He loved being the host and make sure others had a great time around him. He was cool, funny, nonchalant, and easy going. Every nurse loved him and thougt he was the sweetest gentleman. He was also strong and brave... he never let you know he was uncomfortable. From October 2016 thru November 2017 my daddy was diagnosed with high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and kidney disease. He fought them all and beat them all like a champion. In November, he suddenly became ill and was never able to bounce back from it. The battle of pneumonia combined with the cancer was more than he could bare. He took his last breath with me, my mom, and my son holding his hands as he transitioned to the his new life.

Death is scary. Though we know it's inevitable, we still never feel comfortable enough to talk about it in preparation for the future. My daddy had plans to live and fight. Once I realized he didn't have life insurance, it was too expensive to purchase due to his pre-existing condition so I just began trying to save. My efforts don't amount up to the expenses required to send a loved one home with love... not even the most economical option.

So my friends encouraged me to put my pride aside and ask for help. I honestly can not do this by myself. It breaks my heart that I even have to go this route to get help but my dad is laying in a morgue and can't be moved until funds have been paid. I hesitantly come to you as humble as I know how, asking for your help. A few friends and family have generously provided financial support but it's still not even enough to transport his body from Ga to Mo where he wanted to be laid to rest not the mention the actual cost of services.

Bottom line, I need help and I need it now. The funeral home won't begin taking care of my dad in any respect until all funds are paid up front. I can't even set a date for services. Payment arrangements are not an option. GoFundMe should not be used in place of life insurance, I agree... but I'm desperate.  All funds will be handled by me and used for services necessary to lay my daddy to rest respectfully. Anything you can give,  would be more than appreciated.
