RUCKING FOR DUFFERIN - A SIXFEET Charity Ruck March
Donation protected
This year, we're rucking for Ecole Dufferin. SIXFEET is raising money for a new kintergarden play area!
Rucking is a simple sport - put some weight (bricks!) in a bag and walk a long way.
For a little more weight, we're ALSO going to carry some puppy chow and hit up Brant SPCA for a supply drop.
On May 25, 2024 - we're going to complete a 20km ruck march visiting both Dufferin school and the local SPCA.
SIXFEET is a federally registered not for profit organization that brings actionable resilience skills to first responders. We're aiming at opening a facility to blend martial arts with access to formal wellness supports.
One of the things SIXFEET stands for is 'renegade community service'. The grassroots, real-world type of movements that actually help. That's why we're rucking for Dufferin. One of our member's has kids that goto Ecole Dufferin and, when a need was recognized (a new play area for the kiddos) that we can have a part in providing for, we responded with the idea that we could organize a charity ruck to raise the money needed for the project.
Consider sponsoring our ruck march - we're going to deliver the funds directly to the Parent Council responsible for organizing the new play area and, along our route, we're going to drop a good pile of puppy food at the SPCA.
If you're in our AO - please feel free to reach out. Rucking is simple - not easy - but we'd be happy to have you ruck along with us.
If you want to participate remotely, tag @sixfoxtrot on IG - oh, and make sure you're running a supply drop to your local animal shelter!
