Help Rudy On His Road To Recovery

On June 3rd, my brother Rudy was emergency Air Lifted by helicopter from Westbrook to Yale New Haven due to an aortic dissection which is a tear on the inner wall of the aorta. This is the main artery that delivers oxygen and blood from your heart to your body. An emergency stent was put in. Eight days later after stabilizing his blood pressure he finally went into surgery to have two more stents put in. He was told that his recovery would take six weeks.

He went back to work a few weeks prematurely and while working, fell to the ground with what they believed was a mini stroke and was rushed back to Yale. He wasn't able to speak or move one side of his body. Hearing this broke my heart, fearing he would never be able to talk or move the same again. For all of you who know and love him, silencing him, his wit and opinions was unimaginable. He was rushed into emergency surgery and that night after it was completed, the Doctor called and said it was a miracle. All of Rudy's cognitive and motor skills were normal and that he had never seen anything like it!

He is back home but unable to go back to work at this time. He has no more family leave left for this year so we are asking for your help for Rudy on his road to recovery. Any amount that you can share will help lessen his worry on the burden for both medical and home expenses.
