Rudy Rocha

Our beloved Rudy Rocha recently passed on November 7, 2023 after complications of his surgery to operate on his stomach cancer. Rudy was a chief in the Navy who was actively serving his country at the time of his passing and had been active duty for seventeen years. Rudy was an extremely generous person, especially with his time, and didn't know a stranger. His loss is going to heavily impact the communities that he surrounded himself with. Rudy was not only a sailor but a symbol of unwavering dedication, resilience and honor. His service to our country was marked by countless sacrifices and unyielding commitment, yet it was the battle against a formidable adversary that ultimately took him from our midst. Cancer may have claimed his physical presence, but it could never diminish the legacy he leaves behind.

This GoFundMe is to assist in the moving expenses of Leah Crouch, his girlfriend of the last two years. Leah relocated to Texas with Rudy this past December from Virginia when he received military orders to be stationed at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth. Rudy and Leah were burdened less than two weeks ago with an expensive vet bill after having to put down his feline companion, and now she is going to be indundated with the moving expenses (in addition to a $3,000 emergency vet bill) of her plans to move back home to be with family and loved ones in this time of grieving. This financial assistance will pay for her moving expenses and give her time to find a new job back in Virginia and find new housing. Rudy was the center of Leah's world, and her heart has been ripped into a million pieces. We deeply appreciate your assistance that will allow her to properly grieve the loss of the love of her life, losing the home that they built together, and having to give up her nursing job at Cooks Children's Hospital without worrying about the financial toll going home would mean for her.
