Rugal- Abandoned and Attacked
Donation protected
Meet Rugal, estimated to be only a year old, emaciated, flea/tick infested, and attacked by two pitbulls.
***important note: this has turned into a criminal case. All i know so far is local animal control have been trying to trap these pitbulls and county sheriff is investigating. They have been killing local livestock... Rugal is lucky to have survived only weighing 57 pounds.***
July 12th, he was rushed into my hospital after having been severely attacked by two pitbulls. The good Samaritan who brought him in was the neighbor of the man who's pitbulls did this. Reportedly, Rugal was owned by the man's son who moved away several months ago, leaving Rugal behind. The good Samaritan knew he needed help but couldn't afford it, so he was surrendered to my hospital, with me as his caregiver.
Rugal suffered injury to all 4 legs, inner thighs, abdomen, scrotum, and anus. The placement of these wounds lead my team of doctors to believe Rugal was likely trying to escape throughout his attack rather than fighting back. If he were fighting, wounds would have appeared on his face, head, neck, chest, etc.
Rugal is currently on Trazodone, Gabapentin, Rimadyl, and SMZ tabs. He is so painful that he can hardly walk.
July 14th his right rear ankle and left front elbow began to swell significantly so we began plan B: compression, ice, and laser therapy.
Fast forward to July 16th, the swelling has gone down, but Rugal is still not out of the woods yet. He is at an extremely high risk of infection due to bacteria and placement of wounds. He is being closely monitored by me and my team, being fed small meals 6 times a day, and walked 3 times a day.
Please consider donating to his bill. I have racked up a total of $730 in just the first day of treatment alone.
