Donation protected
On November 12th, 2024, our 4-year old son Cameron was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He has had excellent care as a Children's Hospital of Illinois patient at OSF St. Francis Hospital, a St. Jude affiliate. He has been undergoing the induction phase of treatment that requires him to be admitted for approximately 1 month. He has been a trooper and so brave through the process, undergoing procedures to place a power port, lumbar punctures with intrathecal chemotherapy, IV chemotherapy, blood & platelet transfusions, continuous fluids, antibiotics, and antifungals. He has made a lot of new nurse and tech friends while staying in the hospital, but he misses being home with his 3 older sisters. While St. Jude covers all of our medical expenses for the duration of his treatment, his condition will require mom to stay home from work for the foreseeable future to care for him as his lack of immune system will not allow him to be in daycare or school. This obviously takes a toll on our household income and our expenses will continue, with the additional expenses of travel, food, and miscellaneous things that pop up. Any help is appreciated as we fundraise to get through the next 1-2 years of treatments. Thanks for stopping by to hear our story. We also update our caring bridge blog for regular updates on Cameron and the family if you are interested in following our journey. Thank you!
