Ruhf Family Support Fund

We suddenly lost our one-of-a-kind Rick "Ricky" Ruhf on September 25th, 2018. He struggled for several years with a severe anxiety disorder and tried every treatment available to fight his illness. Rick was a graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School in Johnstown, PA and went on to study architecture at The Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA, where he developed a deep fandom for all PSU sports (particularly wrestling and football). Rick was also an active and honorary brother at Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.


Upon graduation, Rick relocated to Annapolis, MD to begin his career in architecture where he subsequently met, fell in love, and married Rosa, his wife of 19 years. He was known for his heavy involvement in the Annapolis community - as Chair of the Annapolis Salvation Army Advisory Board and a key leader at St. Martin's Church - as well as his off-kilter sense of humor and kindness. Rick was always a kid at heart who built life size sandcastles, splashed like a hooked marlin, and always wanted to know the how and why.



Rick is survived by his loving wife Rosa (Day) Ruhf, son Davis Russell Ruhf (age 11), mother Anne Louise, sisters Marilyn and Barbara and brothers Steven and Larry. We are establishing this fundraising effort to help support Rosa and Davis as they recover from this tragedy and to help keep the memory of Rick going strong.




Donations will be used to fund a college scholarship for Davis and to help with various family expenses.
