Ruiter Family Barn Fire Recovery
Donation protected
Since 1962, two generations of the Ruiter family have farmed Black Rapids Dairy Farm, on land leased from the National Capital Commission (NCC). Throughout that time they have been a staple in the community.

As you may have heard, on Friday September 8 their livelihood was destroyed by a devastating fire. Although the family had insurance, sadly the damage goes far beyond what was insurable. Insurance will not provide enough to cover the massive loss and to rebuild their lives. The early estimates of damage exceed $1 million.

We know that in times of need the Ruiters have always been the first to step forward and help. In this difficult time, we - a group of friends from their community - have come together to create this fundraising campaign. These funds will assist with their immediate and ongoing needs.
