Rumbletums Cafe

Rumbletums Cafe and Training Project was set up to offer vocational training and work experience placements to young people and young adults (16-30) with learning disabilities. It's done this successfully since 2011 and now employs five staff and has space for up to 30 trainees. As well as this, it has become a community hub in Kimberley and also offers a parent and toddler group, a Silver Screen film night for older people, regular social events for young people with disabilities and subsidised room hire space for local voluntary organisations and community groups.

In the last 18 months we have raised enough money to purchase the building outright which was our original goal.  Rumbletums are now the proud owners of the café and the future of the training project is secure.  We are so amazed and humbled by everyone's generosity and support.  We couldn't have done it without you!

Our next goal is to complete the refurbishments and improvements needed to make Rumbletums work for everyone. We would like to raise £9,000 to replace the current steep wheelchair ramp at the side of the building to a proper accessible ramp for all of our customers. Anyone who has struggled with a buggy or with limited mobility to get up the ramp and over the threshold will know how necessary this is. Please share our story and help us to build our new Ramp!

If you aren't able to contribute financially to our appeal, you can still help us by sharing our campaign on social media.

Thanks very much.
