Run for 1Up
Hello, we are both runners from Victoria BC (Joe Robertson), and Dawson City Yukon (Jack Amos). We are running from Port Hardy BC, 500km south to Mile 0 in Victoria, in order to raise money for the 1up Victoria Single Parent Resource Centre. Both of us have experienced first hand the struggles of being raised by a single parent and we hope the money that is raised gives single parents some respite and support from their challenging lives.
Our plan is to take turns shifting between running and driving our support vehicle (a 1983 dodge camper van named Pippi). Our goal is to run around 50km total each day, to hopefully complete the run in under two weeks.
Jack is a film maker and writer, who plans to document the run and later turn into a short documentary.
Our goal is to raise ten thousand dollars in order to help fund counselling, school supplies, clothing and goods, mentoring and education, and parent coaching. We are very excited about this project, and hope you will be too!
